Welcome to The Steady Drop – a site dedicated to discovering the big impact of small choices.

Bill Gates once remarked: “People overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years.”

We have the opportunity to make choices every day to either propel our lives forward or move our lives backward.  Unfortunately, those little choices look insignificant when compared to the goal we have set for ourselves.

So what happens when we make a choice, or ten, or twenty, and we still do not reach our goal?  We give up, tell ourselves the work is not work it, and go back to our past habits.

I am completely guilty of this in several categories.

  • Frivolous spending
  • Eating too many sweets
  • Regular exercise

The list could go on.  And even in the face of abject failure, we know deep down that we can succeed.  We just might not have all the tools at our disposal.

The funny thing is, my main occupation is project management.  I am literally paid to transform a single, large goal and break it down into smaller, more manageable tasks that can be assigned to various members of my team.  Ironic, huh?

The Steady Drop is about incremental improvement, turning small changes into habits, ultimately transforming our entire lives.  While everyone’s life is different, there are some key similarities in any goal-oriented task.  My hope is to create a mix of inspirational stories and specific tools that can help you accomplish your personal goals.

“Drop by drop, a river is formed”.  Let’s make sure those drops are steady.
